Canadian ISD along with the guidance of the School Health Advisory Council has chosen to use the Scott And White Edition of Worth the Wait human sexuality curriculum. This abstinence based curriculum is taught by the school nurse to all students enrolled in high school health class which may include some 8^th grade students. Parents are sent home a letter explaining the class objectives and are given the option of viewing the curriculum. Students must have a signed consent from a parent before they are allowed to attend the class. Students who do not attend the class are kept in another area and offered supplemental work by the health teacher.  Anyone who would like additional information on the curriculum or has questions regarding the course in general may contact the school nurse by emailing molly.kerrigan@canadianisd.net or calling 806-323-9331.
